New Constuction

Size: 250,000 Sq. Ft.
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Client: The City of San Antonio
Award Winning Design

The main objective of the design is to create a library that speaks to all of the people of San Antonio. The city’s rich Hispanic heritage becomes a point of departure in this design.

Through the use of courtyards, shaded porticos, and strong simple geometric forms, a new vocabulary has been created that will be a lasting contribution to the downtown area. An emphasis on outdoor spaces is expressed on the roof terraces located on different levels of the building that are shaded by the 6th floor of the building, while allowing breezes to pass through.
